Psych is funny. It’s really funny. If that’s all you’re looking for in a show, consider this the highest recommendation I can muster. The premise of the show is this: protagonist Shaun Spencer solves crimes with his best friend Gus using his incredible memory, impressive deductive abilities, and almost super-heroic observational skills. The twist is that he uses these skills to pass as a psychic.
I was going to do a big write-up about the shows flaws, talking about how the scant drama falls flat, how many plot holes there are in nearly every episode, and how predictable the show can be sometimes. But then I realized I was probably taking Psych too seriously, and worse, letting the quibbles I had with the show stand in the way of my enjoyment of how funny the show really is. And since humor is incredibly subjective and hard to describe, I'll leave my review at that: It's really funny. I would recommend you try the show for yourself, and if you do, remember to do what I didn't: turn your brain off and enjoy yourself.
I think the only thing which annoys me about Psych is the repeating nature of some of their storylines and concepts.
